798 A Rare Complication and Unexpected Pathology Following an Anterior Exenteration – A Case Report

Abstract We present a case report of an unexpected pathology in addition to rare complication 62-year-old female following anterior exenteration and abdominal wall reconstruction. Initial biopsies characterised the malignancy as potential urachal adenocarcinoma, but final revealed solitary endometrial adenocarcinoma metastasis from cancer 6 years previously. Due nature tumour, resection was required, reconstruction involved pedicled thigh flap. Post-operatively small bowel herniated under flap this resulted true mechanical obstruction. The loop is visible on CT imaging area proximal thigh. patient returned theatre for emergency laparotomy defect closed instead with surgical implant derived animal tissue. made excellent recovery, discharged home, continues do well. This example excelling adversity.
